After the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, is making a play to take over the reins of Gotham’s underworld. Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about how they decided to make The Penguin. Colin Farrell fought hard to get the role of The Penguin Smoking Tobacco in Batman (2022), but failed. However, his own series depicts the character as a casual tobacco user who prefers cigars.

The setting was disgustingly bleak, and visually everything you’d want to see in what he’s known for. A large part of it was the mafia prison where Oswald, known as The Penguin, ruled.

Even without Batman, the intrigue is so strong that you don’t even notice

This series absolutely ups the ante on these aspects and sets up the film perfectly. I can’t say enough about Colin Farrell’s performance in this film, and honestly, this might just be his magnum opus. The guy gives the character the roughest and guttery vibe possible, and he does it so well that it resonates. The rest of the supporting cast is very well done, although some of the casting choices seem a little off to a few people.

I can overlook that, though

This series continues to build the Batman universe perfectly. I can’t wait to see where they go from here. Easily one of the best series of the last decade. Give Colin Farrell all the credit he deserves for this role.
