And she didn’t really disappoint me, it’s just that the script doesn’t give her much room to show the depth of her character, if any.

She tried very hard though

I like the first part of the movie, the slow burn, the introduction part. The beautiful scenery and background of Morocco helped them a lot. It is definitely not a lonely planet with repeated scenes of crowded markets. Then he turned to just another basic Hollywood love story.

I don’t mind chemistry and age difference

They could stay as good friends who support each other as they go through hardships, it won’t change the story (but probably won’t sell). Even the s3x scene was unnecessary and awkward. The girl is so boring, if it’s because of the script, then she succeeded in her role. She could keep her shrill voice down though.

In this day and age?

The film went downhill after that. A famous writer who didn’t support her two years of writing? She uses a MacBook, everything should be in iCloud anyway. They have not done a very good job of convincing us.
