He’s adorable. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer who spends his days solving crimes and his nights committing them. During Season 8, Angel Batista was not always played by David Zayas.
His son, David Zayas Jr
stands in for his father in some shots as they look so much alike. Dexter has a large scar on his left side that is visible throughout the first season. Later in the second season, the scar has moved to his right side, leaving the left side unmarked.

Dexter, a forensic expert by day, a serial killer with a vigilante edge by night
Dexter creates a believable and very detailed portrait of, shall we say, a troubled sociopath. One of the parts of the show I like the most is the emotions that normal people display, forcing Dexter to mimic them. Good laughs when Dexter’s fake feelings become real and he is scared, like with his “girlfriend” Rita, a mother of two and victim of her violent ex-boyfriend.
I also liked Jennifer Carpenter’s performance as Debra, Dexter’s sister
She adds a nice color to the show without falling into clichés. Exciting story, lots of details, and one of the best opening sequences ever.
